I joined Education Sector in 1996 as a lecturer and later joined CUI as an Assistant Professor/Pioneering faculty and so far served for about 20 years. I developed and initiated its first undergraduate program in Bioinformatics (with the first intake of undergraduate students of 18 in 2003) and later on strengthened the Department, not only by contributing significantly in developing various undergraduate and graduate programs (total registration rose to >2000 students all together in 2019) but also by establishing state of the art laboratories. During this period, I served the department in various capacities such as incharge, HOD, Chairman and faculty and established number of active, national and international collaborations with world?s best Universities. I have been invited at various international forums for invited talks and developing policy guidelines in the field of Infectious Diseases and Metagenomics. I have done 4 Postdocs from well reputed Universities such as Perelman School of Medicine, and LSHTM, London. I have supervised and co-supervised numerous undergraduate/BS thesis (50 projects) and post graduate thesis (50) including 7 PhDs and have published numerous research papers (>120) in international impact factor journals.
